It is.3 and you have to do some hocus pocus with each picture to get it up to its claimed resolution. Too bad as the kids loved it; but even the 3 year old said, "Why are the pictures nut (sic) clear." For $70 a few $ could have been spent on the sensor. Great idea. But you don't get there and it is a PITA. That would make it 5 star, as is it gets 0 stars as the picture and video quality are miserable. Miserable execution - false premise. This is not a multi pixel camera.
I highly recommend this over the Fisher-Price model. This is a well designed kid-friendly camera that actually takes decent pictures.
The two year old loved showing his cousin how to use it. It was so easy and fun that we also got it for my grandaughter on her third birthday. So glad we chose the V-tech product. My grandson got this camera for his second birthday and loves taking pictures. sometimes it's feet but often they are excellent pictures.
I anticipate him to grow into it nicely. A little too sophisticated for him, but he's still under the recommended age (3y). I highly recommend this children's camera. It's the first one that finally diverted my 2.5yo's attention off my own camera.
It does not have a lot of memory space but a cheap 2GB memory card will give them all the space they need. He has taken it on vacation to Disney and it keeps him away from my digital camera. I also chose this camera over the Kid Tough Digital Camera because he is also able to play games on it making it a travel necessity. My son 6 year old got this camera for Christmas and he loves it. It takes decent pictures and is very easy to use.
